SATURDAY SHOWS…Posted BY FRANCES MAY ON September 11th, 2011
Samantha Pleet’s Spring Collection was gorgeous! Great ready to wear pieces that were very minimal and clean. I loved her pairing with the tribal inspired jewelry and messy braided hair. I also loved her use of soft earth tones up against bright pops of color. I can definitely see all my girls in her pieces.
Milk Studios was so packed last night! My highlight celeb sightings were Anna Wintour & Bill Cunningham!
Anyways, the first presentation I saw was the gorgeous jewelry designs of Pamela Love. A mini symphony aided in the drama of the collection which was very south western inspired with chunky stones and lots of silver! So gorgeous.
The second show I saw was for Aldo Rise, which is not really my taste but I loved how strange it was. The clothes were like if Xena and Pocahontas were shot into space 3,000 years into the future. Lots of skin tight body suits, fringe and mesh.
Another show I saw was for Graeme Armour. This was in the penthouse studio at Milk which lead out to a terrace looking over the waterfront. I loved all the cutouts and use of mesh. The leather jackets were also fantastic! I kind of loved the use of the baseball caps in the styling!
