SWEDEN PART 1.
Posted BY FRANCES MAY ON June 23rd, 2012
My family and I are on the adventure of a lifetime. About a year ago my uncle married a Swedish girl named Hermine who has quickly become a beloved member of our large family. Before coming to Sweden, she praised her home country for it’s wonderful food, friendly people, beautiful landscapes, oh, and her castle. Yep, her family has a castle. No joke. Marsvinholm in the southeastern side of Sweden, 6 kilometers from the ocean, is my home for the next week. It’s crazy, exciting and quite surreal. Last night we celebrated one of Sweden’s most beloved holidays Midsummer’s Festival. It marks summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Last night the sun went down around 12:30 and rose again at 3am. Here are a few pictures of the trip so far, meals we’ve eaten & places we’ve gone. There is much more to come.
