FALL COATS FROM RACHEL COMEYPosted BY FRANCES MAY ON August 31st, 2015
We recently had the pleasure of having Taisa, head of sales for Rachel Comey, visit Frances May in Portland. Along with going out to dinner with the team at Navarre she shared some insider information about our Fall 2015 Rachel Comey selection. See below for details.
This coat was designed to be feminine but not too girly. It’s easy and effortless to wear. The pink blush boucle fabric is from France and the coat is cut and sewn in Manhattan. There were apparently many fittings to determine pocket placement; at first they were too high, then they were too low and now they are just right.
This coat is a Frances May exclusive…almost! We are one of only two stores to carry this special piece, Rachel Comey herself pushed to have it made in very limited quantities. The short dolman sleeves are perfect for early fall weather and transition well for layering as we enter deeper into the season. The coat also has a nice hefty weight to it to keep you warm. The fabric was woven from highland wool sourced in Peru and the garment was finished in New York’s garment district.
Fall is coming and you can never have enough outerwear, especially by Rachel Comey.
